US congressmen Donald Bacon of Nebraska and Salud Carbajal of California have visited the Baltic States, LSM reports. In Latvia, the two members of the US House of Representatives met with Prime Minister Evika Silina, Foreign Minister Baiba Braze, and Defence Minister Andris Spruds to discuss political, economic, and defence cooperation, the NATO summit in Washington, support for Ukraine, and international affairs. In Lithuania, the congressmen met with President Gitanas Nauseda, who stressed the crucial role of US presence in the region as a deterrent against Russian aggression, BNS reported. Bacon is co-chair of the House Baltic Caucus, while Carbajal is a member of the caucus.
