Baltic: PMs agree on joint approach to Russia, Belarus sanctions

Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have adopted a coordinated approach to improve the effectiveness of EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus, ERR reports. The prime ministers of the three Baltic States stressed the importance of a unified strategy, aiming to prevent fragmentation and serve as an example for other EU border countries. The joint effort includes a common approach to address suspicious routes of goods potentially evading sanctions and intensifying information sharing. This collaborative initiative follows the EU sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus in response to the invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and Belarusian presidential elections in 2020, respectively.
