Estonia: 46% of entrepreneurs view economic climate negatively: poll

Nearly half of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Estonia regard the country’s economic climate as being negative, according to a Turu-Uuringute poll for loan comparison platform Sortter, BNS reports. The survey showed that 46% of local entrepreneurs saw the economic climate as negative in August 2024. The main perceived challenges included operating costs (57%) and finding and retaining skilled labour (55%). Nevertheless, 29% of entrepreneurs intend to invest in the next 12 months, with 74% of them planning to invest in daily operations, 63% in new staff, and 58% in marketing. Of the companies not planning to invest, 58% intend to apply for state support. Turu-Uuringute polled over 300 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Estonia.
