The Estonian opposition party, Estonian Centre Party (Keskerakond), has reelected Mihhail Kõlvart as the party’s chairman, ERR reports. He ran unopposed at the party congress in Paide. Also, the congress elected a 14-member board. In his opening speech, Kõlvart noted that the Centre Party had proven wrong those who had said that it was finished, reminding that the party won the most votes nationwide in the municipal elections held in October 2025. He said that the party’s renewed strength made it an appealing coalition partner to other parties. Earlier, the Centre Party formed a new ruling coalition in Tallinn with the national-conservative opposition party, Fatherland (Isamaa). The coalition has signalled joint opposition to the current government in the next parliamentary elections, ERR reports.
