Estonia: Ex-PM Kaja Kallas named one of Europe’s most influential people

Germany-based news outlet Politico has named Estonia’s former prime minister, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, as one of Europe’s most influential people in 2025, ERR reports. Politico’s list ranked Kallas as the 16th most influential person in Europe. She is the only person on the list from the Baltic States. The publication labelled Kallas as “The Undiplomat,” who has emerged as “the continent’s unofficial truth-teller.” She is not afraid to “puncture diplomatic platitudes and call things as she sees them,” Politico noted. However, her “straight talk” is not always appreciated by EU leadrs, the outlet added. Kallas assumed office as the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in December 2024.
