A group of Estonian MPs took part in the Central Tibetan Administration’s commemoration of the 64th Tibetan Democracy Day in India’s Dharamshala on 2 September 2024, Tibetan Review reported. The MPs are part of the Tibet Support Group of the Estonian parliament, the Riigikogu, led by Juku-Kalle Raid. The other delegates were Karmen Joller, Ester Karuse, and Roy Strider, who coordinated the trip. The Chinese embassy in Estonia expressed “strong opposition” to the visit. In his speech, Raid condemned the Chinese Communist Party dictatorship and praised the democracy of the Tibetan diaspora community. In April 2024, Raid and Strider visited Dharamshala to attend the 35th birthday of Tibet’s 11th Panchen Lama, who has been abducted by China.
