Estonia: Omniva to halve number of post offices in 2026

Estonia’s state-owned postal services provider, Omniva (Eesti Post), plans to nearly halve the number of post offices nationwide in 2026, ERR reports. The company will cut the number of post offices from current 35 to 19. Omniva will continue to have at least one post office in each of Estonia’s 15 counties. Also, the company will reduce the number of public letterboxes across Estonia. At the same time, Omniva will expand its network of automated parcel terminals from current 387 to around 600. In addition, the company will begin setting up the first “community parcel lockers” in smaller population centres in 2026. Omniva said that the changes were aimed at improving efficiency and meeting customer preferences.
