Estonia: PM, Foreign Minister underline unity in foreign policy

Estonia has only one foreign policy, Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna assured, ERR reports. Earlier, questions arose after President Alar Karis softened his remarks on the war in Ukraine during his state visit to Kazakhstan. Tsahkna stressed that Estonia’s foreign policy was centered on “standing against Russian aggression, supporting Ukraine, and defending our security interests.” Questions on Karis’s actions should be directed at the president himself, he added. Michal averred that he was “100% sure” that Karis was fully in line with Estonia’s foreign policy position. Meanwhile, Karis posted on his private social media account that he would “no longer tolerate excessive demands made by fools,” ERR reported. The president’s office did not clarify what he meant, however.
