Estonia: Renewable electricity production up 7% in 2025

Power plants in Estonia generated 3,619 GWh of electricity from renewable sources in 2025, which was up 7% from 2024, according to transmission system operator Elering, ERR reports. Renewable energy accounted for 68% of total electricity production and covered 41% of total electricity consumption in 2025. Electricity production from wind power amounted to 1,324 GWh (up 14%), from biomass, biogas, and waste to 1,130 GWh, from solar power to 1,128 GWh (up 12%), and from hydropower to 37 GWh. Wind power accounted for 37%, biomass, biogas, and waste for 31%, and solar power for 31% of total renewable electricity production in 2025.
