Latvia’s actual unemployment rate stood at 5.6% in June 2023, which was down 1.0 percentage point from a year earlier, according to the Central Statistical Bureau’s labour force survey, LSM reports. Compared to May 2023, the actual unemployment rate remained unchanged. The unemployment rate among men dropped by 0.1 percentage point over a year to 6.1%, but rose among women by 0.1 percentage point to 5.2%. The number of people registered as unemployed totalled 53,200 in June 2023, which was 9,400 less than a year earlier. Latvia’s registered unemployment rate stood at 5.5%, which was down 0.4 percentage points over a year.
