Latvia: airBaltic reports highest ever revenue, profit in H1/2023

Latvia’s national air carrier, airBaltic, posted the highest ever revenue and profit in the company’s history in the first half of 2023, LSM reports. The company’s six-month revenue totalled EUR 291mn, which was up 52% from a year earlier. Net profit amounted to EUR 14.6mn, which was up sharply from a net loss of EUR 91mn in the first half of 2022. The company targets annual revenue of EUR 700mn in 2023. The airline operated 108 routes in the first half of 2023, which was up from 101 a year earlier, ERR reported. The number of passengers totalled nearly 2 million, which was up 52% over a year. The number of employees at airBaltic rose by 23% to 2,348.
