Latvia’s construction output increased by 16.1% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period of 2022, according to the Central Statistical Bureau’s calendar-adjusted data at constant prices, LSM reports. Construction of buildings rose by 23.2%, specialised construction activities by 17.5%, and civil engineering works by 2.6% over a year. In the second quarter of 2023, overall construction output to rose by 15.4% from a year earlier. Construction of buildings increased by 21.7%, specialised construction by 21.1%, and civil engineering by 0.9%. Compared to the first quarter of 2023, construction output declined by 5.2%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Construction of buildings fell by 5.3% and civil engineering works by 5.3%, while specialised construction activities rose by 1.8% over a quarter.
