Latvia’s industrial production output declined by 8.8% in May 2023 compared to a year earlier, according to calendar-adjusted data at constant prices, data from the Central Statistical Bureau showed, LSM reports. Output dropped by 7.7% in manufacturing, 7.9% in mining and quarrying, and 15.3% in electricity and gas supply. Compared to April 2023, industrial production output decreased by 1.1%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Output in manufacturing increased by 0.7% and in mining and quarrying by 9.0%, while output in electricity and gas supply decreased by 14.8% over a month. Manufacturing turnover declined by 3.7%, including by 1.0% in the domestic market and 5.1% in export markets, in May 2023, compared to the year before.
