More than 60 Latvian companies are taking part in a large trade mission to the US led by President Edgars Rinkevics, Labs of Latvia reports. Around 80% of the companies represent the service sector. The delegation will visit three cities — Houston, San Francisco, and Denver — over 16-24 September 2024. Economy Minister Viktors Valainis noted that the trade mission was the largest ever Latvian business delegation to the US. He said that the goal was to double the volume of bilateral trade to EUR 1.9bn within five years. Valainis expects the trade mission to attract investments of EUR 1bn to Latvia, including at least three new investment projects of up to EUR 150mn each. Also, the minister expects the participating companies to increase their trade with the US by 15% within a year. Latvian exports to the US could double over 3-5 years, he added.
