The number of non-cash payments in Latvia totalled 394.2mn in the first half of 2023, which was 10% more than in the same period of 2022, the Bank of Latvia reported. The total value of non-cash payments amounted to EUR 150.7bn, which was up 26% from a year earlier. The average number of payments was 2.2mn worth EUR 832.8mn per day. Card payments accounted for 61.2% and customer credit transfers for 36.4% of all non-cash payments. Latvian payment service providers had issued 2.2mn payment cards by the end of June 2023. There are 47,500 POS terminals and 897 ATMs in Latvia.
