Latvia’s populist opposition party, Latvia First (LPV), remains the country’s most popular political party, according to a new SKDS poll done in March 2026 for LTV, LSM reports. LPV now has the support of 8.9% of voters, which is up from 8.6% in the previous poll in November 2025. The ruling coalition’s Progressives comes in second with 6.9% (6.6%) support, followed by opposition National Alliance with 6.4% (5.6%), right-wing populist Sovereign Power with 6.2% (4.8%), and opposition United List with 6.0% (5.6%). The ruling New Unity’s support has dropped from 8.3% to 5.9%, followed by coalition partner Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) with 4.7% (5.6%). The pro-Russian For Stability’s support has dropped from 3.8% to 2.7%. Meanwhile, as many as 26.1% (27.6%) of respondents do not know who to vote for, and 16.2% (15.4%) say they will not vote at all. Parliamentary elections are due on 3 October 2026.
