The number of passengers using public transport in Latvia continued to rise in the first three quarters of 2025, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP), LSM reports. Land transport carried a total of 143.4 million passengers in nine months, which was 1.1% more than a year earlier. The number of passengers using regular bus traffic amounted to 73.1 million (down 2.8%), trolleybuses to 29.7 million (up 1.1%), trams to 24.4 million (up 7.5%), and trains to 16.2 million (up 11.4%). Meanwhile, the number of passengers flying to and from Riga International Airport totalled 5.3 million, which was 0.5% more than a year earlier.
