The number of unemployed people in Latvia totalled 62,000 in June 2024, which was 500 more than in the same period of 2023, but 900 less than in May 2024, according to the Central Statistical Bureau’s (CSP) estimate, LSM reports. Altogether 32,600 men and 29,400 women were unemployed. Latvia’s actual unemployment rate stood at 6.5% in June 2024, which was unchanged from a year earlier, but down 0.1 percentage points over a month. The unemployment rate for men fell by 0.3 percentage points over a month to 6.8%, but was unchanged for women at 6.1%. The registered unemployment rate stood at 5.1% in June 2024, which was down 0.4 percentage points from a year earlier and down 0.1 percentage points over a month.
