Latvia’s state-owned Riga International Airport (RIX) made a profit of EUR 1.6mn in 2023, which was up 4.6 times from a year earlier, LSM reported. The company’s net turnover rose by around 25% to EUR 72.5mn. Revenues from aviation services amounted to EUR 36.7mn (up 18%) and from non-aviation services to EUR 21.2mn (up 38%). Operating costs increased by around 20% to EUR 76mn in 2023. Investments in the airport’s development totalled EUR 22mn. RIX handled 19,000 tonnes of cargo in 2023, which was 9% less than in 2022.
