Latvia’s Riga International Airport (RIX) served a total of 4.6 million passengers in the first eight months of 2024, which was 8% more than in the same period of 2023, LSM reports. The number of flights to and from Riga totalled 41,500. In August 2024 alone, the airport served 740,000 passengers, which was up 8% from a year earlier. The number of passengers amounted to around 24,000 per day. The volume of passengers on direct flights was up 8% and transit passengers up 7% over a year. The number of flights totalled 6,000, and the average flights occupancy stood at 87%. The most popular destinations were Manchester, Budapest, and Malaga.
