The construction cost of the East Highway in the Latvian capital, Riga, may increase by more than EUR 8mn, the Riga city council estimated, LETA reports. The city council considered changes to the project’s implementation, which also envisage an increase in funding. The city signed a contract for the first stage of the construction project with ACB and Tilts for EUR 37.9mn in January 2021, and for the second stage with AM Riga for EUR 27.8mn in July 2021. The cost of the first stage has since increased by an estimated EUR 2.7mn plus additional works for around EUR 1mn, and of the second stage by almost EUR 3.5mn plus additional works for approximately EUR 1mn.
