Latvian Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins asserts that even if Ukraine regains control of all conquered territories, Russia will still remain a military threat to Europe, LETA reports. He argued that Russia’s government was rooted in imperialist ambitions and saw external enemies as a means to distract from domestic issues. Karins highlighted the changing security landscape in Europe, with NATO members ramping up their defence. He emphasised the need for Western countries to prevent a Russian victory in Ukraine, as it would validate Russia’s aggressive approach towards its neighbours. Karins stressed the importance of swift Western support, noting the progress made in providing Ukraine with advanced military equipment.
