Lithuania: Apartment rental prices 20% higher than before 2022

Apartment rental prices in Lithuania are 20% higher than before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, LRT reports. In Vilnius, the rental price of a one-bedroom apartment is around EUR 1,000 or more per month in the city centre, EUR 700-800 in new buildings, and EUR 500 in old buildings. In Kaunas, rents are around EUR 400-500. In 2022, rental prices in Lithuania rose by around 40% due to the influx of Ukrainian refugees. According to the Centre of Registers, more than 12,000 new housing lease contracts have been registered so far in 2023, which is about a third more than in the same period of 2022.
