Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry hosted the annual foreign and security policy conference, Snow Meeting, in Vilnius on 12 January 2024, Baltic News Network reported. The conference was attended by the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Sweden, as well as political leaders and security policy experts from several countries. The participants discussed support for Ukraine in the war with Russia, NATO’s upcoming Washington summit and cooperation with Indo-Pacific partners, and other issues. In his welcome speech at the conference, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis castigated the West for emboldening Russia by failing to help Ukraine sufficiently to secure victory. He warned against illusions about the long-term consequences of the war for the stability of Europe and the international system.
