Lithuania: FSB-linked business group operating at Klaipeda port

A company connected to a former officer of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) gained access to sensitive information about Lithuania’s Klaipeda State Seaport, according to an international media investigation, BNS reports. Ukraine’s Centre of Journalistic Investigations (TsZhR), in collaboration with Lithuania’s 15min and Latvia’s TV3, found that Andrey Shkrabo, a former FSB officer, headed the Russian company, BaltGeoTrest, which is a subsidiary of Lithuania’s Green Line Shipping. The latter carried out works to deepen Klaipeda port’s water basin, including at the Klaipeda LNG terminal, in 2016-2018. The company thus obtained detailed data on the port’s seabed and underwater infrastructure. The investigation uncovered a whole group of companies, GDP Group, with links to former high-ranking FSB officers, including former FSB deputy director Viktor Komogorov, that has continuing operations at ports in both Latvia and Lithuania, TVNET reported.
