Lithuania: GDP up 3% in 2024: revised data

Lithuania’s GDP rose by 3% over a year in 2024 to EUR 79bn at current prices, according to the State Data Agency’s (VDA) revised data, BNS reports. Gross value added in manufacturing rose by 2.9% and in wholesale and retail trade by 2.6% in constant prices. Growth in professional, scientific, and technical activities stood at 8.7% and in the information and communication sector at 13.8%. Meanwhile, value added in accommodation and food services fell by 5.6% and in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply by 10.5%. Household final consumption increased by 3.1% and government final consumption by 1.6%. Gross fixed capital formation decreased by 1.7% in 2024. Lithuania’s exports of goods and services rose by 2.6% and imports by 2.4% compared to 2023. Salaries increased by 9% in 2024, accounting for 49.4% of GDP.
