The opposition Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP) remains the country’s most popular political party ahead of the parliamentary elections due in October 2024, according to a Spinter Tyrimai poll for DELFI in June 2024, ELTA reports. The survey showed that 13.8% of respondents would now vote for LSDP, which is up from 13.2% in May 2024. The ruling Homeland Union (TS-LKD) comes in second with 10.1% (11.2%) support, followed by the new Dawn of Nemunas party of former MP Remigijus Zemaitaitis with 8.7% (8.9%). The Lithuanian Liberal Movement (LLS), part of the current coalition government, was fourth with 5.9% (6.3%), followed by the opposition’s Union of Democrats for Lithuania (DSVL) with 5.8% (6.3%) and Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (LVZS) with 5.7% (6.3%), third coalition member Freedom Party with 3.9% (4.3%), and the opposition Labour Party with 2.1% (2.0%).
