Lithuania: Majority oppose LSDP’s coalition with far-right: poll

The ruling Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP) has commissioned a Norstat poll to gauge voter opinion on its coalition with far-right Dawn of Nemunas (PPNA), LRT reports. The survey showed that 56% of voters had a negative opinion of LSDP’s decision to invite PPNA into government. Also, 53% thought that the current coalition should not continue, while 41% thought that it should. As many as 38% believed that PPNA posed a threat to national security. Meanwhile, 51% of respondents said that they distrusted LSDP, while only 20% trusted the party. Norstat conducted the poll in November 2025. Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen, leader of the opposition Lithuanian Liberal Movement (LLS), argued that, in the current geopolitical climate, LSDP’s cooperation with PPNA undermined democratic foundations, ELTA reported.
