NATO leaders and delegations have begun gathering in Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius, for the defence alliance’s summit due to take place on 11-12 July 2023, BNS reports. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the summit venue, the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre (LITEXPO), on 10 July 2023. Also, Nauseda will host US President Joe Biden for a bilateral meeting at the presidential palace on 11 July 2023, while Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte will host Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Stoltenberg has called a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Vilnius in the evening of 10 July 2023 to discuss Sweden’s NATO membership bid. Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, is also expected to arrive in Lithuania. The NATO summit will bring together 48 delegations with 2,400 members, including 40 heads of state.
