Lithuania: Number of foreign visitors up 4% in 2025

The number of foreign travellers visiting Lithuania totalled 1.5 million in 2025, which was 4.4% more than in 2024, according to the State Data Agency (VDA), BNS reports. Foreign tourists stayed an average of four nights in Lithuania, which was the main travel destination for 77% of all arrivals. According to state-run tourism promotion agency Lithuania Travel’s survey, 51% of foreign visitors came to Lithuania on holiday, 17% to visit friends, and 16% for business. As many as 90% of foreign tourists rated their overall experience of Lithuania positively. Meanwhile, Lithuanian residents made a total of 2.5 million trips abroad in 2025, which was down 3.8% from 2.6 million in 2024, VDA reported.
