Estonia: Estonians getting married at ever later age: statistics

People in Estonia are getting married at an ever later age, according to data from Statistics Estonia, ERR reports. In 2023, just 24% of men and 34% of women were under 30 years old when they got married, compared to 60-70% in 1993. Meanwhile, 51% of newly married men and 46% of women were 30-44 years in 2023, compared to 24% of men and 20% of women in 1993. Furthermore, 17% of men aged 45-59 years got married in 2023, which was up from 9-12% in the period from 1993 to 2013. Women aged 45-59 accounted for 14% of all newlyweds in 2023, which was up from below 10% in 1993-2013. People who remarried accounted for 30.8% of all women and 29.4% of all men who married in 2023, which was down from 32.4% for women and 32.6% for men in 1993.
