US engineering company KBR has signed a cooperation agreement with Latvia’s GI Terminal on a project to build a renewable aviation fuel plant at Latvia’s Port of Liepaja, LSM reports. Under the memorandum of understanding, KBR will provide engineering solutions and equipment for GI Terminal’s planned sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant and CO2 liquefaction terminal at the port. This would be KBR’s first project in the Baltic region. GI Terminal’s strategic partner in the project is the Lithuanian-owned aviation group, Avia Solutions Group, the Liepaja Special Economic Zone reported. GI Terminal plans to complete the project by 2030. The company signed the agreement with KBR during the visit of a Latvian business delegation to Houston.
