Latvia’s population totalled 1.826 million people as of 1 November 2025, according to provisional data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP), LETA reports. The number of live births totalled 9,887 in the first ten months of 2025, which was 1,108 (10.1%) fewer than in the same period of 2024. Boys accounted for 5,162 (down 3.8%) and girls for 4,725 (down 16.1%) of the total. Deaths totalled 21,325, which was down 3.7% from 22,145 a year earlier. The number of deaths thus exceeded the number of births by 11,438, compared to an excess of 11,150 deaths over births a year earlier. Meanwhile, the number of marriages registered in the first ten months of 2025 totalled 9,625, which was 658 (7.3%) more than in the same period of 2024.
