Estonia: Bank profits in H1/2023 almost as high as in whole of 2022

The total profit of banks operating in Estonia in the first half of 2023 was almost as high as in the whole of 2022, ERR reports. Swedbank’s net profit amounted to EUR 214mn in six months, which was EUR 148mn from a year earlier. In 2022, Swedbank’s annual net profit stood at EUR 224mn. SEB Bank’s six-month net profit stood at EUR 113.3mn (EUR 49.2mn), compared to EUR 116mn in the whole of 2022. LHV Group’s net profit totalled EUR 68.9mn, which was up EUR 42mn over a year. In 2022, the group’s annual net profit was EUR 61.4mn.
