The cost of Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine far outweighs the cost of stopping it, Jonatan Vseviov, secretary general of Estonia’s Foreign Ministry, stated. Speaking in an interview with Estonian World, Vseviov said that Estonia’s policy was to push Russia back into Russia, adding that every country can do their part to help stop Russian aggression. He noted that NATO is now “more capable, more serious, and more united” than it has ever been since Estonia joined the alliance in 2004. The alliance has shown that it can evolve; “what seemed politically impossible one day, has become possible the next day,” Vseviov said. Nevertheless, defence and deterrence will never be totally sufficient, he cautioned.
