Lithuania: Maxima Group’s sales up nearly 5% in H1/2024

Lithuanian supermarket operator Maxima Group generated consolidated revenue totalling EUR 3bn in the first half of 2024, which was up 4.7% from the same period of 2023, GlobeNewswire reported. Like-for-like retail sales rose by 2.2% over a year, including by 4.7% in the Baltic States. Online sales dropped by EUR 8mn. The group’s six-month EBITDA amounted to EUR 209mn, which was down 10.8% from a year earlier. Investments in fixed assets totalled EUR 109mn, which was EUR 53mn more than in the first half of 2023. The group opened 24 new stores, including 16 in Poland, 5 in Bulgaria, 2 in Lithuania, and 1 in Latvia. Maxima has stores in all three Baltic States, Poland, and Bulgaria.
