Lithuania: Russia’s “reign of terror” in Crimea must end: President

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda is visiting Ukraine to attend the fourth annual summit of the Crimea Platform, BNS reports. Speaking at the event, Nauseda demanded that Russia release all illegally imprisoned Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars. He noted that Russia had implemented “brutal colonial policies” in Crimea for the past ten years. Russia’s reign of terror in Crimea and other occupied territories in Ukraine must end, and Russia and its accomplices must be held accountable for their war crimes and crime of aggression, Nauseda stated. Earlier, Lithuania’s Justice Minister, Ewelina Dobrowolska, called for the establishment of a special international tribunal for Russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine, ELTA reported. She was speaking at a conference of justice ministers of the Council of Europe’s member states in Vilnius.
