Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda is the country’s most influential politician, according to the combined results of two new polls, BNS reports. A survey of Lithuania’s elite indicated that Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius was the most influential politician with 598 votes, followed by Nauseda with 565 and Laurynas Kasciunas, chairman of the conservative opposition party, Homeland Union, and former president Dalia Grybauskaite with 435 votes each, DELFI reported. Reitingai surveyed altogether 1,143 politicians, civil servants, and experts in July-September 2026. In another poll of the general public, 38.3% said that Nauseda was the most influential politician in Lithuania, followed by former president Valdas Adamkus with 27.9% and Grybauskaite with 27.2%. Spinter Tyrimai polled 1,017 respondents aged 18-75 years across the country in July 2026. Combining the two polls, Nauseda ranked first with 43.7%, followed by Sinkevicius with 33.6% and Grybauskaite with 32.6%.
