Baltic: Disability discrimination highest in Estonia

The share of people with or without disabilities who felt discriminated against in administrative offices and public services is the EU’s highest in Estonia, according to survey data from Eurostat, LSM reports. As many as 14.6% of people with disabilities perceived discrimination when interacting with public administration or accessing public services in Estonia in 2024, compared to 10.7% in Lithuania and 8.6% in Latvia. The EU average was 9.4%. Meanwhile, the share of people without disabilities who felt discriminated against in administrative offices or public services stood at 8.1% in Estonia, which was also the highest share in the EU. The share was 4.8% in Latvia and 4.0% in Lithuania. The EU average was 4.0%.
