Political leaders of Baltic Sea countries criticised the US strategy on the war in Ukraine at the GLOBSEC 2024 Forum in Prague, The Baltic Sentinel reported. Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur stressed the need for strategic clarity: “We want Ukraine to win, not just to fight,” he stated. Speaking to the Kyiv Independent, Latvian Defence Minister Andris Spruds lamented the West’s hesitation and inclination to fall into the “trap of Russian blackmail.” Lithuania’s Foreign Minister, Gabrielius Landsbergis, noted that the West was still afraid of the word “victory” and lacked a clear vision for after the war. History shows that there can never be sustainable peace with an undefeated Russia, he asserted.
