Banks in Estonia made a net profit of EUR 356mn in the first half of 2026, which was almost the same as a year earlier, according to Taavi Raudsaar, economist at the Bank of Estonia, Baltic News reported. The total loan portfolio of banks amounted to EUR 30.0bn, which was up by more than 8% over a year. Outstanding loans to households amounted to EUR 16.0bn (up 8.6%), according to the Bank of Estonia’s data, ERR reported. The portfolio of housing loans rose by nearly 10% and other household loans and leases by 2%. The corporate loan portfolio amounted to EUR 14.0bn, which was up 8.2% over a year. Bank deposits totalled EUR 34.1bn at the end of June 2026, which was EUR 1.4bn more than a year earlier. Household deposits amounted to EUR 14.5bn (up 7.2%) and corporate deposits to EUR 10.5bn (up 2.3%).
