Estonia’s industrial production output declined by 12.7% at constant prices in May 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, according to data from Statistics Estonia, ERR reports. Output fell by 31.5% in electricity production and 13.1% in manufacturing. Meanwhile, output rose by 36.3% in mining and quarrying. Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the volume of industrial production fell in most manufacturing activities. Sales of manufacturig products declined by 11.6% at current prices over a year, according to working-day adjusted data. Domestic sales fell by 10.7% and export sales by 12.2%. Compared to April 2023, industrial production increased by 2.2%, according to seasonally adjusted data.
