Estonia: Industrial production down 3.1% in March 2026

Estonia’s industrial production declined by 3.1% at constant prices in March 2026 compared to the same period of 2025, according to Statistics Estonia, ERR reports. Output increased by 5.9% in mining, but decreased by 19.5% in energy production and by 1.2% in manufacturing. In the manufacturing sector, output in wood processing rose by 5%, fabricated metal products by 3.5%, and computers, electronics, and optical equipment by 12.6% over a year. Riin Kadarik, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that food production has declined for three consecutive months due to a drop in retail sales volumes and demand amid rising prices. Electricity production fell by 23.6% and heat production by 9.6% on year. Compared to February 2026, seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 2.5% in March 2026.
