Estonia: Rail Baltic Estonia’s revenue up 84%, profit more than doubles in 2022

Estonia’s state-owned company Rail Baltic Estonia, which was established to build the Rail Baltica railway, reported revenue of nearly EUR 39.6mn in 2022, which was up 84.3% from 2021, BNS reports. The company’s annual profit more than doubled from EUR 11.4mn to EUR 28.5mn. Rail Baltic Estonia made a profit of EUR 36mn from targeted financing of assets. Excluding the targeted financing, the company suffered a loss of EUR 7.6mn in 2022. Rail Baltic Estonia’s assets increased by 78% to EUR 74.7mn at the end of 2022. Investments in infrastructure construction amounted to EUR 44mn. The state does not exact dividends from the company.
