The municipal public transport company of the Estonian capital, Tallinn, Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT), will temporarily replace all trolleybuses due to the poor condition of the fleet, ERR reports. TLT will replace the trolleybuses on all four routes with buses as of 1 November 2024. The company plans to procure new trolleybuses and electric buses. The new vehicles will not need overhead cables, which TLT will remove in the city centre. Trolleybuses started operating in Tallinn in 1965. The temporary interruption in service will be the first of this size and duration since then. TLT has 42 trolleybuses, of which 32 are in daily service.
