Latvia: Average wage up 4.2% on year in Q1/2026

The average monthly gross wage in Latvia amounted to EUR 1,831 in the first quarter of 2026, which was an increase of EUR 73 (4.2%) from the same period of 2025, according to provisional data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP), LSM reported. The average wage rose by 4.6% in the public sector and 4.1% in the private sector. The average hourly wage stood at EUR 11.87, which was up 2.3% over a year. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, the average monthly wage fell by 1.6% and hourly wage by 6.6%, however. The average net wage amounted to EUR 1,364, which was up 4.5% over a year. The gross median wage stood at EUR 1,457 (up 3.8%) and net median wage at EUR 1,128 (up 4.8%). Latvia’s minimum monthly wage rose from EUR 740 to EUR 780 as of 1 January 2026.
