Business sentiment in Latvia was positive in the retail and services sectors, but negative in manufacturing and construction in May 2026, according to the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP), LSM reports. The retail confidence indicator stood at 3.1%, which was up 1.5 percentage points from April 2026. In services, the seasonally adjusted confidence indicator was 1.6%, which was up 0.1 percentage point. The confidence indicator in the manufacturing industry was negative at -4.3%, which was down 0.7 percentage points. In the construction sector, business sentiment was alo negative at -8.4%, which was down 3.0 percentage points compared to April 2026. The overall economic uncertainty indicator was 15.3% in May 2026, which was down 1.8 percentage points from a month earlier. Economic uncertainty has decreased in construction, services, and manufacturing, but has slightly increased in retail trade. The economic sentiment indicator stood at 97.4, which was down from 98.0 a month earlier.
