Latvia: LIAA helped attract EUR 655mn of foreign investments in 2024

The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) helped attract 45 foreign investment projects, which will create an estimated 2,023 new jobs, in 2024, LSM reports. The total value of the projects is EUR 655.4mn, which is up 6% from 2023. The biggest investments were in high-value-added manufacturing, ICT, energy, and aviation. LIAA’s target is to attract EUR 790mn of foreign investments, with focus on large-scale projects, in 2025. The key markets to attract investments from include Norway, Germany, Sweden, and the US. The agency’s long-term target is to increase annual investment volumes to EUR 1bn in five years. LIAA’s current investment portfolio includes 166 projects with a total value of EUR 10.8bn. The agency has offices in 20 countries, and it plans to open new offices in Spain and Indonesia in 2025.
