Lithuanian authorities are investigating allegations that Russian opposition leader, businessman Leonid Nevzlin, was behind an attack against another exiled Russian opposition leader, Leonid Volkov, in Vilnius in March 2024, BNS reports. Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that the allegations made by the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) were “serious,” but called on politicians to wait for the investigation. President Gitanas Nauseda said that he would “responsibly consider” the allegations, BNS reported. He assured that Lithuania would “always support” the Russian opposition and ensure its safety. Meanwhile, Poland has arrested a person whom FBK accuses of involvement in the attack against Volkov, BNS reported. Nevzlin and his close associate, businessman and opposition leader Mikhail Khodorkovsky, frequently attend Russian opposition meetings in Lithuania.
