Lithuania: Cyber attacks target public transport, tourism services in Vilnius

Cyber attackers are conducting targeted DDoS attacks against Lithuania, Liudas Alisauskas, director of the National Cyber Security Centre (NKSC), announced, BNS reports. The attacks disrupted the mobile public transport ticket system, m.Ticket, in Vilnius and the website of the capital city’s development agency, Go Vilnius. Also, NKSC recorded two incidents when anti-NATO disinformation was broadcast on a regional radio station and in a shopping centre following the hacking of a third-party music streaming service. Meanwhile, mobile operator Telia Lietuva reported that calls to attack state institutions and companies in Lithuania are being spread on various Telegram channels. The attacks come as Vilnius is preparing for a NATO summit on 11-12 July 2023.
